Artist statement
I create highly realistic paintings and drawings that lure the viewer into the narrative.
The work focuses on people and animals making direct eye contact, essentially challenging one not to be seduced by their story. My intricately rendered drawings have a cavernous range of value, lending drama to the tale. For the oil paintings, I embrace rich classical color, capturing the beautiful effective light on that moment in time.
This body of work beckons the viewer to contemplate the storyline while imagining the drama that must have proceeded this intimate moment captured in time.

The "Pickpocket" Series
This exciting project will consist of 12 detailed drawings from the rough streets of old London inspired by the powerful imagery of Oliver Twist. My childhood was spent imagining these drawings that I am now bringing to life!
This drawing, along with another from the series have been featured in AAPL exhibits.

ATELIER: / ə-tel-YAY / noun
Where students learn drawing and painting techniques directly from experienced artists in a studio setting.
I have not only fallen in love with art throughout my life but I truly love the art of teaching. In my 42 years as a fine art instructor, I’ve come to believe that with patience and work ethic, any student can master the timeless concepts of the old masters—light, form, structure, color theory, and accurate anatomy.
Through weekly classes and intensive workshops, I guide students on their journey to mastering the techniques and principles of classical realism with dedication and care.
